Kendra Wilkinson announced her engagement this week to football player Hank Basket, after weeks of rumors that she had moved on from the Playboy Mansion. But don’t feel bad for Hef, not only does he have new 19 year old twins as new girlfriends, but he issued a warm and caring statement about Kendra’s engagement.
“Kendra Wilkinson has met someone who she would like to spend the rest of her life with. His name is Hank Baskett, a wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles, and he popped the question last Saturday. I have given her my blessing and will be giving her away at a very special wedding ceremony at the Playboy Mansion this coming June.”
Way to be a sport Hef, and congrats to Kendra!! I love to see a story end well…
After 51% of California voters passed Proposition 8, re-banning same sex marriage in the state, the outcry was very visible from the celebrity and gay community. Today, a very vocal Melissa Etheridge took to her blog to vent her feelings and plans given this decision.
Okay. So Prop 8 passed. Alright, I get it. 51% of you think that I am a second class citizen. Alright then. So my wife, uh I mean, roommate? Girlfriend? Special lady friend? You are gonna have to help me here because I am not sure what to call her now. Anyways, she and I are not allowed the same right under the state constitution as any other citizen. Okay, so I am taking that to mean I do not have to pay my state taxes because I am not a full citizen. I mean that would just be wrong, to make someone pay taxes and not give them the same rights, sounds sort of like that taxation without representation thing from the history books.
Okay, cool I don’t mean to get too personal here but there is a lot I can do with the extra half a million dollars that I will be keeping instead of handing it over to the state of California. Oh, and I am sure Ellen will be a little excited to keep her bazillion bucks that she pays in taxes too. Wow, come to think of it, there are quite a few of us fortunate gay folks that will be having some extra cash this year. What recession? We’re gay!
Oh and too bad California, I know you were looking forward to the revenue from all of those extra marriages. I guess you will have to find some other way to get out of the budget trouble you are in.
This seems pretty dang logical to me… if taxpaying American citizens are denied their basic rights, then why are we taxpaying citizens again? I echo the outrage of the California gay community, and join in their sadness at the outcome of Prop 8.
My only soapbox moment on this issue…. as a gay community, our challenge now is to not remain victims, and to take a proactive approach to gaining the rights and benefits deserved. This sucks… to be plainly honest, but now is the time to move forward, open up to other people and allow them to see the complete lack of threat the gay community poses, and stop waiting to be attacked before we take a hard stance. This served as a harsh reminder to me too…and my heart goes out to the 18,000 couples whos marriages are in jeopardy because of this decision.

Rumors started swirling yesterday that 18 year old Taylor Swift was pregnant with the baby of ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas. Considering that both of them have been very public about their virgin status, and commitment to stay that way, these rumors spread like wildfire. An understandably upset Taylor Swift took to her blog yesterday to express her outrage…
“I read a very creative rumor this morning saying I’m pregnant, which is the most IMPOSSIBLE thing on the planet. Take my word for it. Impossible,”Taylor blogged on her Myspace Page Thursday, implying that she is still a virgin.
“I have devoted my entire life to not having something like that happen,” an upset Taylor continues. “It’s really, really scary that someone can just say something and it gets spread around the Internet and all of a sudden it’s a verified rumor, with no grounds.”
“I didn’t do anything to provoke that. Like I’m sitting there thinking, like what? Did I wear the wrong shirt?”
It’s pretty bad when an 18year old girl has to defend herself on her myspace from grown adults acting like school-yard bullies.
While Madonna’s “Sticky and Sweet” tour was in LA last night, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake joined her onstage to perform “Human Nature” and “4 Minutes”. While the ex’s didn’t perform together, it was the talk of the town that they were going to be performing at the same concert for the first time in YEARS!
Lol, at this point nothing should surprise me about Angelina Jolie… but this one did come as a bit of a shocker. I can see this as something she would definitely do… it’s part of why we love her… but I’m surprised that we haven’t heard about it before now!
Apparently Angelina’s old best friend, was roommates with a tattoo artist, and the three of them used to hang out regularly. During those times, Angie would get tattoo’s… including one in an unseen area…well, unseen to anyone but her lovers… and now, the roommate is telling us all about it!
“I did the secret Billy Bob tattoo that you will never see,” Friday says. “She would come to the house all of the time, because my roommate was her best friend.”
“She was always like ‘Tattoo me! I’m jonesing for another one,’ or ‘I want Billy Bob’s name on me!’ So I put his name down there.”
During an interview in which Pink was promoting her new Album “Funhouse”, she told us what she thought of Katy Perry’s breakout single, “I Kissed a Girl”.
While she was careful to clarify that she admires Katy as and artist, she did have this to say about the song…
“What did I think of Perry’s song?”“I thought ‘I Kissed a Girl’ was trivializing being gay. I’ve been speaking to my gay girlfriends about it, and they’re kinda put off by it. I’m not judging and comparing, though.”
I have to say, speaking to many of my own gay friends about this, the sentiment seems to hold pretty true in the gay community around here too. Personally… I think that its a cute song, and a masterful PR move to thrust her into the limelight… and to be honest, with gay issues being such a hot topic right now, any public representation that leans towards good for the gay community, is a way of getting conversation started and positive results, in my opinion. And even if it did nothing else… it gave the gay and straight community something in which to start a topic of conversation that was non-threatening because of its pop culture nature.
Even though this is VERY old news… some interviewers can’t seem to let go of the rumors that there has always been a competition between Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. In a recent sit down, Christina addressed the pesky gossip clearly, once and for all:
“When we both started releasing records, it was a funny time for me,” Christina tells the Daily Mail. she added.
“It must have seemed as if we were competing with each other, but, in reality, Britney is someone that I used to hold hands with,”
“We were silly little girls together on The Mickey Mouse Club. What a journey it has been for both of us!”

…by the Royal brothers!! Paris is in the U.K. filming her London leg of her new reality TV series, Paris Hilton’s My New BFF, and ended up at the London nightclub Wisky Mist. While she was there, she ran into royal heirs William and Harry and tried to get their attention… Paris style.
She did a dirty little bump and grind dance in front of Harry, only to be politely ignored… here’s what the reporter said about watching the encounter:
“It was quite funny to watch. Harry clearly didn’t want to speak to her but she did a sexy dance in front of him and he finally stood up to shake her hand. He then just wandered off, and Paris looked a bit annoyed,” a spy giggled in Thursday’s edition of the Daily Mail.
Paris later tried her luck with Prince William. She approached his table, and repeated her sexy dancing routine. Unfortunately for her, the attached William wasn’t anymore receptive to her advances than his kid brother.
All I can say is…. HELL FREAKIN YEAH! That is EXACTLY what she deserves… if only the guys in the US would give her the same treatment, maybe she could grow a little class!
Sad sad say… last weekend Stevie Wonder’s home burned to the ground after being one of the many victims of the California Wildfires. The New York Time’s had this information to add…
Everything was destroyed – all of Stevie’s memorabilia, photos, musical instruments, history, clothing, furniture, everything. It’s all gone. It was his main residence and he is utterly devastated. Stevie’s had to put his tour and appearances on hold while he deals with this.”
This just strikes me as very very sad… a lifetime of work and memories… all of his history and memorabilia, just gone. I can’t imagine how devastating that would be…
Rihanna has never made a secret of her propensity towards cheating… or hidden from her image as a quirky bad girl, and it looks like she might have fueled the fires again this week.
Everyone knows that Chris Brown and Rhianna have been together since way back in the 2006 VMA days, where they appeared for the first time together on the Red Carpet. And although they haven’t ever publicly confirmed their relationship, we are CONSTANTLY seeing pictures of them on vacation together and cuddled up in various locations.
But that all might be coming to an end… especially once Chris Brown reads the blogs today…
It seems that she and is getting a bit cozier with Kanye West than a locked down girl should be getting….. here’s the quote from a backstage worker at the latest T.I. concert that both Kanye and Rihanna attended:

Britney’s Spears much anticipated appearance on MTV’s VMA’s boosted the ratings for MTV by 23%over last year’s VMA show and 43% over the 2006 show! This years rating blowout made the show the highest rated cable television show for the entire year in the 13-24 year old age demographic.
Alicia Keys has once again balanced the precarious tightrope that is the crossover artist. If the critics are to be believed, her upcoming performance in “The Secret Life of Bees” is comparable to some of our best known actors and actresses. Lindsay and Sam were photographed in the photo above, with a sparkling heart shaped ring on Lindsay’s all important left hand. On TOP of THAT, an attendee at the Chateau Marmont quoted Sam as announcing during her DJ gig…
“By the end of this year, my love will be Mrs Ronson.”
She added: “Tonight shows the power of a woman – to underestimate that is to underestimate the world.”

Last night, apparantly Lindsay had enough with the constant invasion of her personal space, and decided to fight back on her own. While entering the Bowry Hotel, she tripped over a metal barricade while chatting on her phone, and because of the invasive history of the paparazzo, she assumed that one of them had purposely tripped her. Instead of letting it slide… she hauled back and sucker punched the accused in the face!
She was later heard telling a friend on the phone, “Oh my God, I just hit a paparazzi”.
Police were called to the scene, but not charges were filed and Lindsay left a short time later.
While I definately don’t support using violence in most cases, does anyone else feel like the paparazzi’s had something coming for thier past behavior?
This photo of Britney Spears next to artwork that used to hang in her parents house, was on eBay this weekend. Although inexplicably, the eBay site has been pulled… we’re still left wondering why the auction didn’t proceed……….and now that I think of it, why her parents had a topless photo of their daughter in their house…..
The ebay sale was reported to be part of a fundraising effort for The Promises Foundation which provides “behavioral health services to low-income women and their children.”
We love that Britney is giving back, but where did it go!?
It’s being reported by some, that a recent psychic reading stopped wedding plans in their tracks for Justin Timberlake and Jessica Beil. The report details that Justin’s mom, Lynn, hired an astrologer to determine the pairs compatibility, and the results were anything but good. Justin supposedly halted the plans, and Jessica is rumored to be furious….
Does anyone else smell something fishy with this story? I’m not sure that I buy that One…..Justin would base all that much on one astrological reading, or two…. that he’s that much of a mamma’s boy. You tell me, what do you think?
Looks like P. Diddy managed to scrounge enough change in the couches of his empire to fill the gas tank yet again this weekend. After doing some serious b!tching last week about how he has to fly commercial because gas prices are too high to fly his private jet… he still managed to make it out this weekend to party with Leo Dicaprio in Vegas.

Just when you think Jennifer Lopez can’t surprise you anymore… she ups the ante yet again.
This weekend JLo finished her first triathalon, a mere 6 months after giving birth to her twins Emma and Max. And if THAT wasn’t enough… 6 hours later she was across the country and dressed to the nine’s to celebrate husband Mark Anthony’s 40th birthday.
Looks like our girl Britney has her priorities straight once again, as was proved this weekend when she threw a calm family birthday party for her boys Jayden James and Sean Preston. Jaime Lynn flew in with Baby Maddie to help Mama and boys celebrate, and Britney even rented a jumping palace for all the kids to enjoy!
I don’t know about you, but I’m pleased to see what looks from this sky view, like a normal, happy, little boys birthday party… put on by their loving mom.
Frances Bean (the only child of Courtney Love and Kurt Cobain), had a death themed 16th birthday party. Guests were required to wear red and black and compete in the “Who looks most dead” contest.
Supposedly the theme was “Death to Childhood”, but does this strike anyone else as slightly inappropriate and rather creepy??
Today must be Britney Spears day…. because the news just keeps coming about her. Although it’s a relief to see that all the news today is positive, and about forward movement in her career, unlike this time last year.
First, Britney’s label has announced that her new album will release on December 2nd, just in time for her to celebrate her 27th birthday! Well, well…. you’d think that young Hollywood would love the idea of a female vice president… but apparently Pamela Anderson isn’t the only one that has her claws out when it comes to this topic.
Both Pink and Lindsey Lohan took swipes at the vice presidential candidate today, by blog and by interview respectively. While I don’t pretend to care much for the republican candidates, and this gossip site does not take political stances, I was surprised at how intelligent, forthcoming and passionate both celebrities were.
Looks like Daddy AND Disney must be loosening the reigns a bit on 15 year old Miley Cyrus. The new boyfriend that she’s been photographed with several times is non other than 20 year old underwear model Justin Gaston. Although they weren’t planning to make the news public until January, because of leaks on the Internet, Ellen did confirm yesterday on her show that she IS the new face of CoverGirl! During her show she chatted about the various rumors that have been swirling about her the last few days by saying…
“I am here to set the record straight right now. I am not pregnant….I am the new face of CoverGirl,”
“We were going to let you know [in January], but somehow people found out about it,”

Just to explain her first comment… there have been false rumors running the gossip mill over the weekend that were saying that Ellen and Portia are planning to have a baby/are already pregnant/are breaking up because Ellen wants a baby and Portia doesn’t. As you can see… the theories are conflicting, so I decided not to throw out any of them out of respect to what should be a happy time for them.
In a move sure to anger his friend Tom Cruise, Will Smith has denied being a Scientologist. When asked directly if he was, he responded:
“I am not” and then explained his interest in the religion by saying, “You can take different parts of things you like and put them all together.”
Hmmm… so even though he doesn’t consider himself an “actual” scientologist, he was still willing to create a private school where the students will be taught Scientologist methodology, and he still hangs out with some of Hollywood’s most prominent Scientologists.

On Monday, the biggest fan-site for Sienna Miller was shut down, but not without explanation. The webmaster and uberfan who started the site in 2004, posted a blog that detailed his frustration and disgust with the starlet…
“I cannot get past the fact that to me she has completely changed from the Sienna I became a fan of back in 2004…..Sienna’s affair with a married father-of-four and extremely public displays of affection – have heightened my lack of interest in the site and Sienna. Not only has the affair struck him badly, but apparently her lack of tact and need for attention got under his skin as well…

If rumors are to be believed… and I still have my doubts about this one, Kevin Federline was doing a little preventative maintenance to Britney’s circle of influence.
Paris and Kevin attended the same Las Vegas opening of new Resturant/Club “Lavo” over the weekend, and Paris asked about Britney and the boys. Kevin kindly but firmly requested that Paris stay away from Britney, so that Britney can continue on the road she’s been on. He told her that Britney doesn’t need bad influences in her life, and that her circle brought issues that Britney doesn’t need or want to deal with.

Did I miss something here…. how in the world did Jessica Simpson top country music charts with her album release this week? Every single bit of feedback I’ve heard, made no bones about the fact that country music lovers HATE her crossover shows, and that she’s performed badly even on live TV. She’s never even been that successful in the mainstream where the majority of people don’t mind if you have nothing to say on your album, as long as you are cute and blond and…. well endowed.
Lol, don’t get me wrong, I think she’s just fine, sweet and sincere in her efforts, I just don’t think she’s that talented… and I can’t figure out how she just pulled this one off.
That said, she did top the country music Billboard Top 100 list with her new album!
Looks like the new Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates TV spots that we’ve seen all over are not hitting the right keys with the viewing public. Microsoft has pulled the ill-received spots, although their stance is that this was planned all along. They also stated that “phase two” of the commercials will be coming out in the near future.
I thought the commercial was funny and intelligently witty, and I enjoyed seeing Bill Gates in a comedic role like that. Maybe it’s just the geek in me? What do you guys think?

The much sought after crowning of People’s Magazine 10 Best Dressed Stars of 2008 came out today, and with it, some beautiful and stylish women. I must agree with most of their choices this year, and think they did a fantastic job of picking across the celebrity circles.
This years top 10 included Kate Hudson, Heidi Klum, Rhianna, Gwenyth Paltrow, Fergie, Anne Hathaway, Sarah Jessica Parker, Michelle Obama, Eva Mendes and Charlize Theron.

Lynn Spears made an appearance this week on the Today Show, and was interviewed by Meredith Vieira. Her appearance was to discuss her book, which hit shelves yesterday, but wandered off the path a little bit to discuss Jaime Lynn and Britney.
Lynn revealed that Jaime Lynn told her she was pregnant with a note, in this excerpt from the video:
Jamie Lynn handed her mother a note and told her to go into her bedroom to read it. “It said she was pregnant and everything was going to be OK. She was going to raise it … I thought it was a joke. I was waiting for the punch line,” Lynne told Vieira.

Today, Brad Pitt stepped forward and put his personal and financial support behind the Gay Rights movement. While Brad has always been an outspoken supporter of Gay marriage and equality, today he donated 100,000 to assist in the effort to defeat ballot initiatives that would ban gay marriage in the states that have recently taken giant steps forward in the fight for equality.
Not only that, but he also made a personal statement…
“Because no one has the right to deny another their life, even though they disagree with it, because everyone has the right to live the life they so desire if it doesn’t harm another and because discrimination has no place in America, my vote will be for equality and against Proposition 8.”

Looks like maybe the youngest Hogan family member may have learned his lesson….
Following a rough year for Nick Hogan and his entire family, Nick has finally gotten some good news today. Citing “Good Behavior”, Nick is being released from the Florida jail he’s been in for the last 5 months, a whole 3 months early.
In an attempt to keep the early release in context, a jail official explained that Nick is not getting special treatment in this situation. He was quoted saying:
“They automatically get credits towards early release, and if they don’t do anything bad while they’re here, they get to use the credits.
Nick will be leaving jail on October 21st, in time to enjoy Halloween with his family…
I wish Nick all the luck in the world, and hope that these hard lessons he’s learned as a result of his choices, will serve him well for the rest of his life.
So, in a strange twist of events, Samantha Ronson has turned down a gig at the NYC Gay Hotspot, RubyFruit.

Bridget Marquardt of the HUGELY popular “Girls Next Door”, has confirmed that she will be starring in her own television show on the Travel Channel starting next year. In June 2008 she signed a contract to star in 13 episodes where she will travel the world showing the Travel Channel viewers some of the best beaches.
In related news… I also just discovered today that Bridgette is MARRIED! I’ve found in online sources that she married a guy named Chad in 1997, and that although they are separated, they have never actually divorced. He is the owner of the Ooga Booga store in Lodi, California, and she says that he was very supportive of her moving into the mansion with Hef and the girls. She also commented in the interview, that “who knows, maybe we’ll get back together someday”.
As we all know, Michael Lohan has practically made a career out of abusing his daughter and family in public forum, and today is no exception.
For those of you who don’t know how this works, tabloids and websites make money off of exclusive photos or information, and so consequently, they are willing to pay some pretty good money for information. Unfortunately, they are especially willing to pay slime-bags like Mr. Lohan, because of his connection to the very famous and headline grabbing Lindsey Lohan. This means that Michael gets paid every time he shoots his mouth off, AND… he gets attention and headlines.

Lindsey and Sam celebrated their freshly outed relationship status by going to none other than Disneyland yesterday. Britney Spears donned a black bob-cut wig for the video shoot for her soon to be released first single off the “Circus” album… Womanizer. It is reported that the scene she was shooting involved her “sucking on cherries or dangling them around her mouth, all while straddling and crawling all over the man”, a witness said. They also noted “She seems to be all business,” “She’d just do one thing after another and then on to the next.”

So here is the officiar, l new single off of Britney Spear’s new album “Circus”. It was released today on Z100, and will be followed up by the music video later this week, and her album release on December 21st.
Personally, I’ve been waiting for a long long time, for Britney to put out something that is emotionally honest and I can’t say that I’m not a little disappointed with this newest single. It sounds like….. the same thing. We know she can do Dance… we know she can play the clubs… and as supportive as I’ve been toward her, I’m still waiting to hear something deeper. I have been really hoping that the last year that she’s gone through would give her the push she needed to really break out and show who she is, kind of the way Christina Aguilera did with “Stripped”. If this is the example of this record… I’m afraid I’ll be disappointed. I guess we’ll wait till the CD comes out before making any real judgement.

The artist Jonathan Yeo, has been making a name for himself in the art world for years, but he’s broken through into the public eye lately for his “creative” new medium…. Porn Magazines.
Now this isn’t what you think, he isn’t MAKING porn, but rather, making art out of old porn magazines! The Photo above was created completely of old porn magazines, and depicts Paris Hilton in all her porn friendly glory. Just to prove that this is all in good natured fun, Jonathan has offered to donate the proceeds of the painting, which is for sale in a London art gallery, to Paris, since she has always complained that she didn’t make any money off of her infamous sex tape.
This artist has also created a similar style work of art depicting George W. Bush, back in 2004, after the white house cancelled a commissioned portrait with him. I guess it goes to show you that you should never cross an artist!
The rumor mills are swirling this morning with talk that the Playboy Empire that has been growing strong for years, may have hit a very rough spot. Word is that Hugh Hefner has been told that he has to lay off almost 1/4th of his staff within the next 30 days, or he could risk bankruptcy.
The Playboy brand has not been immune to the disaster that has been happening in the stock market in the last couple of months, and this sudden and continuous downturn has put the jobs and dreams of many on the line.
I’m saddened to hear this news and sincerely hope that all is much better at the Playboy headquarters than is being reported. Playboy, Hugh Hefner and his girlfriends have become rather dear to me since the show “Girls Next Door” started airing a few years ago, and I would HATE to see such a long standing and classy company fall victim to the economy. Here’s hoping that the economic bailout that everyone has been discussing so passionately this week, will make a difference for them.
Sometimes things remind me that Hollywood stars are no different than regular folks… and other times, I remember that what sets them apart is their constant need for attention.
Meg Ryan gave an interview to In Style magazine, in which she detailed the wrong-doings of her ex husband Dennis Quaid, that ultimately led to their divorce. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m all about a woman being honest about her hurts and pain, especially when guys cheat, but the thing that bothers me about this tell all… is that she was divorced in 2000!
It seems to me that almost 9 years should be enough time for a girl to let go of the baggage and moooove on. If not internally, at least don’t continue pulling it out for everyone to see in magazines after 8 years. It makes me wonder what the motivation is, and if she’s just talking about it to get attention.
Apparently, her Ex felt the same way, and blasted her for bringing up the past again by saying:
“It was eight years ago,” he tells the New York Daily News. “I find it unbelievable that Meg continues publicly to rehash and rewrite the story of our relationship.”
Dennis says it is “regrettable that our son, Jack, has to be reminded in a public way of the turmoil and pain that every child feels in a divorce.”
What do you think…. is she a scorned woman who is just telling her tale? Or is she just looking for attention at the cost of her son?
New broke today that Heath Ledger’s family has decided as a whole, to give the late actors entire fortune to his daughter Matilda Rose. The $18 Million dollar estates was willed to his parents and siblings, and did not include his daughter, because it was written before she was born.
His father made a statement to the New York Times saying:
“There is no claim. Our family has gifted everything to Matilda.”
This is an incredibly classy move by a wholesome, down-to-earth family. All of Hollywood should take note of the grace and dignity these people have handled this difficult situation with.
Heather Locklear was arrested on Saturday for suspicion of driving under the influence. Another driver observed her in a parking lot, driving back and forth over a pair of sunglasses, and then followed her out of the parking lot. The driver called 911 when Heather began driving erratically and crossing center lines. When police arrived, Heather had stopped the vehicle in the middle of the lane and seemed very confused and disoriented.
She passed a breathalyzer, and was found to have no alcohol in her system. She was eventually charged with suspicion of driving under the influence of prescription medication.
Man… all I can say is, if this is another Ambian story like the one Jack Nicholson told after Heath Ledger’s death…. they better pack their bags and leave the country. Prescription medication huh? Sounds like a perfectly good reason to murder a pair of sunglasses in the middle of the night….
News was released today that Katy Perry will now be immortalized as a doll… short skirt, red lipstick and blue eyes included. It’s a pretty cute doll I think…

Anne Hathaway sat down to do promotion for her upcoming movie, Bride Wars, and during the interview, things turned a little revealing. Anne gushed about her love of anal sex, going into detail saying:

Well well well…. I hope you all caught the mini-concert that New Kids did on VH1 last night, because it was DEFINITELY worth it! I have to admit, I was too young and oblivious back in the 90’s when they were popular, to really understand the massive star power they had, but they sure do have an amazingly charismatic appeal now! Who would have thought that out of all of the fads, the music, the bands, the rockstars, the divas…etc..that the New Kids on the Block would ever come back and back with a BANG?
I watched the concert last night, in awe of their performance. They may not be new, they may not be kids, but they ARE talented artists. I am so excited to see them back working together, and they seem as if they didn’t miss a beat! In my opinion, 15 years have been erased and their reunion, has been and will be, the best in music history. I honestly think the only thing that could top this would be if the Jackson 5 got back together; which we know will never happen.
“The Block” is a great CD, and I think they are on their way back to the top now. The best thing is that they are doing it how they want to do it. It takes guts and a lot of courage to come back and to try and be what they were…Can they top their pop icon name?
We shall see! I definately think they doing better than ever and I wish the best of luck to them! I shall always remain a true fan!

I don’t know if the rest of you remember, but when “Blackout” came out a year or so ago, Britney was in such a state of meltdown and chaos, that she refused to do any promoting for the album. She even went as far as to tell Ryan Seacrest, when he called her on her personal phone, that she didn’t have to do press for the album. It was quite obvious to all of us, that Britney was in no mental shape to stump for her record, and was hanging on by her fingernails just to maintain daily life….

So Paris Hilton’s new reality show “My New BFF” airs for the first time Tuesday night at 10pm, and to promote it, she’s out giving interviews and sharing her newest single. The song was created for the show, so obviously is titled, My BFF.
I have to say, I was prepared to hate this song… because pretty much everything about Paris is contrived and phony… but I gave it a listen anyway. To be honest…. it’s not going to win any awards, and its not adding anything of value to the music culture… but, its kinda cute. I don’t hate it, and I had to admit even to myself, it sounds just about as good as what has come out of most of the popular pop musicians lately….

Looks like the newest Hollywood sapphic sister has decided to open up even more about her relationship with Sam Ronson. Lindsay is set to release her third album, “Spirit in the Dark” on November 4th, and with it, a thank you to girlfriend Samantha Ronson on the album jacket.
Apparently, when the jacket was originally finalized, Lindsay and Sam had not gone public with their relationship, and the thank you was concealed, using a pet name for Sam. Now, given the public outing and acceptance of the relationship, she has had thousands of jackets reprinted so that she can send her thank you specifically using Sam’s name.
I think this is a sweet gesture… and I’m very happy for her that she feels she can inch out more and more and be honest about herself and her relationship. Sometimes I wonder though, if it’s always smart when artist put this relationship stamp on their work, because if the relationship ends… wouldn’t that taint the record? Jennifer Lopez used to do this all the time, putting her boyfriend of the year in her music video’s, and even she learned in the end to keep her personal life and private life much more separate.

Her play did a pre-opening to the public this week, and instead of being the flop that many were predicting, it rocked Broadway! The play, “All My Sons, which also stars John Lithgow, Dianne Wiest, and Patrick Wilson, doesn’t officially open until October 16th, but it has already made $684,002 in it’s first week! That number topped all of the other plays at closing on Saturday.
Way to go Katie! Maybe this will give her back some of her credibility, and she can begin making movies again…

Well, after Jessica Simpson discussed her relationship with Tony Romo in a recent magazine interview, we all knew it was only a matter of time before the wedding rumors started hitting the streets. Looks like Lindsay and her girlfriend Sam are getting ready to expand their family, if local gossip is to be believed. Lindsay expressed her desire for children, and specifically to adopt in an upcoming interview in British Marie Claire.
It’s even said that she has contacted both Angelina Jolie and Madonna to ask for guidance and information on the best places and methods for adoption.
I have to say, that while I wouldn’t be surprised if she was ready to settle down and start a family…. 22 seems pretty young to be going in that direction, especially given the challanges she’s just faced in the last year. … that she IS still a teenager. At Miley’s birthday party at Disneyland this weekend, her mother made sure that her daughter, and everyone else, remembered that her daughter is still just 16, and has rules she has to follow just like any other teen.
It seems that Miley is allowed a certain level of spending on a credit card her parents gave her, but when she went over her limit last week, it was taken away from her. Her mother Leticia said, ““She had a credit card, and she went a little over her limit the other day, so I said, ‘No credit card for six months”.
I don’t know about you, but it’s very refreshing to me to see a Hollywood teenager that is still treated the age she actually is. Maybe this will keep Miley from turning into another Britney Spears?

Photographer Timothy White has compiled a new book called “Hollywood Pinups”, that includes such stars as Susan Sarandon, Kate Hudson, Mary-Kate Olson and Molly Sims. All of the female bombshells will be posing partially nude for the historical guide that is set to release on October 28th.
During an interview where she was asked about the book, Susan Sarandon had this to say about posing in the nude after 60…
“I actually look forward to getting older – it is certainly better than the alternative – when looks should become less of an issue, and when who you are is the point,”says Sarandon, 62.
“I haven’t had any surgery, but I don’t knock it. I think that women, anyone, has the right to do anything that they like with their bodies if it makes them feel good about themselves.”

Looks like having 6 kids is effecting Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie the same way as it does the rest of the world…. who would have thought! Amusingly, the big news this morning is that Brad and Angie are having trouble getting alone time and that they are “exhausted”. Everyone is making this out to be a BIG DEAL, but it sounds to me like every other family that decides to have children.

News came out today that Britney Spears is going to be releasing a documentary in conjunction with MTV that will detail her come-back from mental health issues to a successful career again. MTV issued the following news brief, accompanied by a statement from Britney herself…
On November 30, Britney Spears will work in cooperation with MTV for a 90-minute documentary about her illustrious return to pop music after a battle with mental illness.
The television event, entitled For the Record, will air Sunday, November 30 at 10 p.m. on MTV.
“So much has gone on over the last couple of years and there’s a lot that people don’t know about me that I want them to know,”Britney said in a statement to MTV News on Thursday. “I wanted to make this film because I started to feel like I wasn’t being seen in the light that I wanted to be seen in. This is an opportunity to set the record straight and talk about what I’ve been through and where I’m headed.”

I LOVE that Keira had this to say, because sometimes it really bothers me when people use gratuitous nudity just to sell movie tickets. It seems to me that its underestimating the intelligence and attention span of us movie going folk, as if we wouldn’t sit through a movie if there WASN’T nudity involved. How about…. lets make GREAT story lines, and if the nudity is part of the great story line… then okay, but lets not just use it as replacement to creating something great. If the artist and writers focus on creating something spectacular… I think their work would put behinds in seats without the skin flash…

Like most of America, I have watched little miss Dakota Fanning grow up on the big screen… and always thought she was one of the most amazingly talented young actors I’ve ever seen. And while I still think she’s talented… I’m a little sad to see this recent statement by director Rowan Woods:
“She initially refused to come out of her trailer on day one of shooting because her scene wasn’t filmed first,” says Woods, who worked with Dakota on her upcoming film Winged Creatures, the filmmaker adds.
“She is a gorgeous girl … but she was a disaster,” “Most of our work was cutting her scenes and a lot of her scenes were cut.”

Britney Spear’s new single, “Womanizer”, broke a record on the Billboard Hot 100 this week, beating out the previous record held by T.I. The single was given the title of “Biggest Jump in Billboard History” after moving from spot 96 last week, to number 1 this week.
Lol, this is one of those awards like “Miss Congeniality” or “Yay, you used to suck, but now you don’t”… I’m not sure that this is one she should put on her resume… although it’s great that her single is number 1 this week!
